CommerceAI bills in credits. 1 credit = $0.001. Every completed shopping.agent turn uses credits from your balance.

How a call is charged

A completed shopping.agent turn is charged in three parts:

Input tokens	325 per 1M tokens
Output tokens	650 per 1M tokens
Tool calls (product searches the agent runs inside the turn)	6 per call

Credits for one turn = input tokens × 0.000325 + output tokens × 0.00065 + tool calls × 6. The total is rounded up to a whole credit once per turn; the parts are not rounded separately. A turn makes about 5 tool calls on average, so the cost depends on how much searching the request needs and how long the answer is.

Playground calls cost the same as API calls and count toward the same usage. For Search API pricing, see Price.

Every response reports the charge in usage. The value below is illustrative, not a fixed charge:

PENDING means the charge is recorded and is being deducted from your balance; the console shows the new balance within a few seconds. NOT_REQUIRED means nothing was charged.

credits_used is the rounded total for the turn.

Before each call, CommerceAI checks your balance. When the balance is too low to start a turn, calls fail with INSUFFICIENT_CREDITS and are not charged.

Getting credits

Source	Amount	Notes
Sign-up credits	1,000 credits	Added when you first sign in. They count as the free credits for that month.
Monthly free credits	1,000 credits	On the 1st of each month (US Eastern time), your free credits are reset to 1,000. Unused free credits do not carry over.
Top up	You choose	Buy a package or a custom amount in Billing. Paid in US dollars on a Stripe checkout page. Purchased credits do not expire.

Free credits are used first. Purchased credits are used only when the free credits run out.
